lovely
don't look at me, I shy in the sunshine of your gaze
my soul would rather dance of your periphery
while you notice the gentleness of others
I am acutely aware of my awkwardness
a ballerina of hopefulness
watching the way you move others with your honesty
tender thoughts come over me
and I open up to your sad beauty
fierce but true in the strangeness
you lend me comforted strength
I pirouette through the emptiness
avoiding the despair of loneliness for the moment
I ache all shades of color
a misfit of destiny
would be us dancing in the light but for fate
so I keep to the shallows of your loveliness
I would surely drown in your depths
