With a Smile
The sky is grey and blue like day
The sense of colour is lost on most
But not you, factory girl
With each new cloud your eyes grow wide
And I see a place inside your eyes
That you collect all the things you see
Later on you’ll share with me
And I’ll hang on every whisper
That escapes beyond your reach
And curls my ear in the most amusing way
Everyone loves you, factory girl
As long as you still count the stars
And watching trees dance in the breeze
You just laugh and look at me
I see myself inside your eyes
Can’t wait till I get back to mine
So I can be stolen again, anew
A voluntary prison, I confess
I’ll feel the sense of helplessness
Residing in and out of you
The sense of colour is lost on most
But not you, factory girl
With each new cloud your eyes grow wide
And I see a place inside your eyes
That you collect all the things you see
Later on you’ll share with me
And I’ll hang on every whisper
That escapes beyond your reach
And curls my ear in the most amusing way
Everyone loves you, factory girl
As long as you still count the stars
And watching trees dance in the breeze
You just laugh and look at me
I see myself inside your eyes
Can’t wait till I get back to mine
So I can be stolen again, anew
A voluntary prison, I confess
I’ll feel the sense of helplessness
Residing in and out of you
