Vive la différence

Looking at the différence between
Cookie and Biscuit.
We are told that
Cookie comes from ''koekje''
Which is Dutch for ''little cake''.
Biscuit comes from the Latin ''bis''  and ''coquere''
Which means twice baked.
Yet in France they insist on eating cookies
While in Québec we eat biscuits.
The French perhaps think it is classy to say cookie
But it sounds rather snobbish to me.
They love to use anglo terms
Like shopping and week-end.
Le magasinage et la fin-de-semaine
C'est pas bon pour eux.
Vive la différence.

Author's Note
Negative or positive. Whatever. Biscuit in french: pronounced ''bisk oui''. There is also the weird ''gosses''.  The French use to refer to their kids.  Les gosses font çi et ça....In Québec, les gosses means your testicles.  Imagine when you watch a  french movie for the first time and your hear the guy constantly talking about his testicles....
