Peace Out
I saw the moon look down on me,
From its place in the winter sky,
Blasting moonlight furiously
To have the dark itself comply
With all the gold and order there
Contained within those lofty beams,
Transforming all our frosty air
Into a backdrop fit for dreams...
And where else may a dream conduct
Its efforts in a better light
Since daylight has them self destruct
Instead of sighing through the night
Just above the whispering pines...
Forevermore my midnight shrines!
From its place in the winter sky,
Blasting moonlight furiously
To have the dark itself comply
With all the gold and order there
Contained within those lofty beams,
Transforming all our frosty air
Into a backdrop fit for dreams...
And where else may a dream conduct
Its efforts in a better light
Since daylight has them self destruct
Instead of sighing through the night
Just above the whispering pines...
Forevermore my midnight shrines!
