Moonflowers that Bite
Fields of Moonflowers
Reaching with
Psychosomatic static
Into the bedroom of the moon
Tracing and lacing the
Predictable midnight air
With Poisonous pages
Of white petal sages
Filled with liquid glycerine
Trapping youth to be seen
At midnight savoring the write
With intentions to strike
Sending the full moon
Into a crescent coma
Fooled by the white
Moonflowers that Bite
Reaching with
Psychosomatic static
Into the bedroom of the moon
Tracing and lacing the
Predictable midnight air
With Poisonous pages
Of white petal sages
Filled with liquid glycerine
Trapping youth to be seen
At midnight savoring the write
With intentions to strike
Sending the full moon
Into a crescent coma
Fooled by the white
Moonflowers that Bite
Author's Note
I love Moonflowers.
Had no idea they could cause a coma tho. LOL
Kinda ironic since they bloom at night.

Hi CIU:)
They do and they are quite breathtaking.
They are related to morning glory flowers.
I use to have the whole side of our house with
both so I would have blooms in the morning and at night.
We moved and haven't had a chance to plant anything.
it is on my radar though.
Just got to be careful and not accidentally put myself into
a freaking coma!! LOL
Thanks for the RL and commenting amigo:)

Hi Rainne:)
I am so happy you connected with this. Love the whole mystery of
other planets and the treasures on them and surviving in an eco- system so different from ours.
Love moonflowers. The are so big - just made me think of the petals
like pages and bloom writing. hahah
Had no idea they are poisonous.
In severe cases can cause a coma. Yikes!!!
Thanks for checking this out amiga:)

Beautiful flow, with subtle internal rhyme A...
[Sending the full moon
Into a crescent coma]
Such a clever turn of phrase,
so characteristic of your work...
The bedroom of the moon...
Fucking brilliant!
I might as well just quote the whole thing!
Wonderful work A.
This is bad ass...

Hey Cipher!!!
hahahahah.
Dude - I have a crescent smile planted on my face right now. LOL
I use to have them at my old place. Just thought they were so cool
because of how big they are. In my mind they are big enough to vine towards the moon and bite it.
Love to incorporate edginess into beauty. In my opinion - that is real beauty. The unpredictability of it. Just never know - so watch your step. LOL
Had no idea they could cause so much
trauma like a coma. Just had to incorporate that word into
this piece.
Thanks for the RL all of your snaps killogator. heheheh
have a great evening amigo.

Beautiful piece and the rhyme is second to none, This whole piece kinda makes us think of LDF pieces, there's something about the night or early mornings. So many great lines, tight work Lady

Hey Me:)
What a humongous compliment!!! I have learned so much from reading the Dragon Fly of DUP. Nothing little about her writing. But
ssshhh - Don't say anything. Gotta keep it cool. hahaha
Thanks for checking this out.

(Awesome pic of you! Or is it an avatar? You researched for one, under "cool dinner company chick" didn't you?)
As for the write, you hit a homerun with this one. It sets a scene and the tone so well. -like an after dinner walk perhaps. Taking in the evening and seeing the flowers all the sudden, on a wrought iron fence.
Wonderful descriptive poem, Del.

Hey Styx,
Ha! yes - that is me. I am a hat person. I have a wall of them.
Love shoes too.
Yes - I am girly and not ashamed of it. hahahah
Also helps me when it comes to characters I am writing.
To get a feel for them for a sec.
So glad I hit a homerun!!!!
Yesssss!!
Moonflowers are so so lovely to me. I had some at our old place
but never read up on them. Had no idea they were poisonous
or could cause a freaking coma. LOL
Totally floored when I read that. Wha? wha?
After that my mind just started imagining
this scene. Moonflowers vining towards the moon and
taking a bite out of it keeping it in an everlasting coma.
Was going to use that word everlasting but liked crescent better.
Thanks for the RL and your snaps amigo:)

Thanks:)
Song also helped as well - it is awesome!!!
The tone of the song gave me a menacing vibe
while I was writing.
Love when I disappear for a minute:)

You have a really unique, original voice. When I started reading this, I immediately had the most lovely sorts of question marks start popping up, the shape and cadence of it, the images it creates, the meanings behind metaphor, I want to explore the dimensions I am able to perceive and curious of those that I am not. To me, that is artistry well rendered.

Hey Daniel:)
Thank you. For me it is one of my personal number one goals. Having a voice that is completely my own and being able to change things up a bit when I can - as far as tone. I don't want to be a predictable writer. I like to surprise and stretch the readers imagination.
This is such a huge compliment for me - so thank you.
Glad you stopped by and left a kick ass comment!!
