Long Ago

Past memories bubble
In spite of troubles,
Trembling wings double
Under double eagles,
Marching to long ago beats — -
Forgotten that we’d surely meet,
Joyous surprise greets
Heartsongs strung tight
In moonlit night
An ode took flight
And I fell under its spell,
Fell again not to quell
But faint as I tell
How it all began — -
With Pooh Bear in hands,
Of youth in sands
Expecting grand
Designs whirl
To tumble girl
Into his world…
