Repurposing
All letters promise to haunt future eyes
As the crumbling ruination of thought...
Commenced Hell for leather as the ink dries
In eternity's mirage polyglot...
Dust blown ever whither and whence
Tumbling as just another wayward weed
And sometimes gathered by a rusty fence
Just long enough for some souls to read;
Mind flotsam and brain jetsam adrift...
A library of bottle message notes
For descendant sentience to sift
Like horse snouts in a bucket of oats
Treating treats to a kind of renewal
Like scholarship with bookshelf gruel,
Mixing loads of imminent manure
For an alphabetic entrepreneur!

I recently found letter between my Mother and her boyfriend from the 80s. It carries the air of ghostly Soviet past. It is always an adventure to find an old letter. Quite the mystery to it.
Yes, I've recently sent a couple of letters to siblings through the Post Office. I think creating a message that is an actual physical artifact has the potential of producing a family heirloom. Electronic stuff is great, but will it be there in thirty years? Old letters can be hidden in books.

I have been sending a lot of letters in my life.
I've kept correspondence with at least three people, separately.
I even made pieces of paper resemble old pages with coffee and sent letters to look ancient.
It is quite the feel.

That's awesome! Do you do much calligraphy? I don't so much but I think it's really cool. I'm thinking about getting my hands on some actual papyrus.

I try to write some beautiful and different letters but it's just an attempt to create a beautiful script, it is not the real thing for sure. But yeah, I love styling and decorating pages. I bought myself a new notebook that has a cover, painted by an artist's hand and not printed, it looks very pretty, it has golden ornaments. It's an owl with glasses and they are the circled with this golden shiny paint.
