I Think of You There

I Think of You There

Unthinkable sleep
Passes you by,
Unable
To quiet
Your mind.

Avoided
As long
As your body
Obeyed

Each flickering
Thought
So unkind.

Not even
An "if"
But restlessly
When,
Uncontrollably
Just given
Straight in,

Finally
Tried,
And given
To ride,
She falters
Her step
To within.

To his lap
She straddles
One leg
Landing
Perfectly bare

As her
Surface
Makes contact
At last,

Hugging
His neck
Until nearly
A wreck
She oscillates
Wind blown
So sweating
To dare.

Until then last
She collapses
Just past
The end
Of where
Sharp thinking
Is whetting,

Honed
On the stone
Of the powerful
Throne
Where both
Heart and her mind
Were begetting.
