Summertime Sonnett
Summer hastens the warmth upon the highest evergreen leaves
Hastens my words to you from the richest soil I breathe;
From the richest soil I breathe, for anything less would despair
As the fullest promises failed nothing more than heated air;
Nothing more than heated air upon swift summertimes’ breeze
Something more are the words that mean more than all of these;
Meaning more than all of these as the day shall light fulfil
Breaking upon the morning as the spilling of ink from quill;
Spilling of ink from that of quill swimming full length of page
As the last sayings have dawned and the bitter rays of night advance;
Bitter rays of night advance as evening slips from noons’ embrace
Under the moons’ high saltry dance and writing Her words on Earths’ old page;
Writing Her words on Earths’ old page seeking the twilight ink
I return to the very place, the origin of your thoughts, your words, your name
Hastens my words to you from the richest soil I breathe;
From the richest soil I breathe, for anything less would despair
As the fullest promises failed nothing more than heated air;
Nothing more than heated air upon swift summertimes’ breeze
Something more are the words that mean more than all of these;
Meaning more than all of these as the day shall light fulfil
Breaking upon the morning as the spilling of ink from quill;
Spilling of ink from that of quill swimming full length of page
As the last sayings have dawned and the bitter rays of night advance;
Bitter rays of night advance as evening slips from noons’ embrace
Under the moons’ high saltry dance and writing Her words on Earths’ old page;
Writing Her words on Earths’ old page seeking the twilight ink
I return to the very place, the origin of your thoughts, your words, your name
