here
if we please,
you and i,
close
enough
to water's
edge
to let
the current
lull us
into dreams,
unafraid,
undisturbed,
and probably
forgotten
 
we can
hold these
sweet, familiar  
things
and these
good, last years
and bask
in the warm light
of our bright star
and simply be
in this delicious
morning
 
and that is a gift
that time bestows
upon those it blesses
