My escape to dreams
Oh, I hate waking up, I really do no lies
In my dreams this body just isn't like this
Soft, sick and bruised to the gods
In my sleep I'm strong, healthy as the earth
Adventures galore hours and lifetimes experienced
Doesn't matter it's all in my beautiful dreams
Fake smiles follow me around when I'm awake
But the beings in my dreams seem to mean it
What do they have to lose except me when I wake
Oh how I miss them when I open my eyes
Lovers, friends, mystical creatures and places
Gone like a good song, gone with the sunrise
Fastly forgotten as I wipe the sleep from these eyes
Then I have to stab myself with medication
Swallow those pills and live this dragging life
Falling into bed at night a smile on my face
Here's to the dreams I get to enjoy nightly
