primavera
Stasis
Dark quiet
New springtime pulls us out from winter
The ticking assuages my right ear
shelf
The tiny clock perched upon the tiny
Halters and falters and frowns, as if unsure it’s got the right time
But, it goes on anyways, but always seems to
hold its breath
I lay there and listen to the air purifier
It whirs constantly, and never gets to rest,
running and running
The moonlight sits in the window
The wood in the house
blooms
like a flower
in spring,
An invisible bouquet, but
Its cedar, sleepy scent soothes the psyche
Only lasts for the
first
few weeks of warmth after winter
But it is a blossom I anticipate every year,
My favorite perennial
