distant bells
caroling carillon
carrying carrion
water the deep
on this holy day
a day of rest for
six days of labor
to give birth to
a new mindset
we will name her
hera, goddess of the hearth
borne out of mind and substance
the warmth of thought embers
engineers a path

Leaves paint shadows on the sidewalk
A small flock of sparrows flit away
Avoiding my footfalls
A book tucked under my arm
I think of you fondly
It's the distance
Sending signals across the pond
Marred by fatal crossings

Saint Lucia
If the night is a thief
What does it steal?
Lost sleep, tossed and turned,
To things that go bump in the fright
Some of us are nocturnal
And see more clearly in the dark
Not I.
I go to bed when evening comes
I cannot stand to think
Of the wingless angels just out of sight
I do not wish to know them
But they Know Me
They watch over as I slumber
Prodding and poking with long fingers
An uneasy massage
The cycle is not to be broken--
Once undone it unravels ...
What does it steal?

Palate cleansed and ready to fall
Par the course-produced pliancy
Hard-stopped inattentive truancy
Undelivered love letters left unread
And a technical error to disconnect
Two or three odd ventriloquists
Speaking to me through a single kiss

No air no water, but perhaps God’s grace?
Under atomic pressure can you be one with Him?
Are comets and stars actually Seraphim?
What lies at the center of the heart?
At the end of the road does it restart?
What’s the point in even asking,
If He's not interested in multitasking?

a sigil lost in breeze
perpendicular to axes
and futile clarity;
the intra-net is full of daemons
we chant we chant we chase
an inorganic time-kept secret:
a shadow with no face
under green glow within the watch of tiny tiny eyes
the cables snake and process: tenderized
a mother-bored 2deaf shall initialize
a startup scream still bright and new
internal disks store what to do

intact bliss-fool ignorance

Asking Questions
Mist, mossing over accuracy
Why don't you see me?
I see a lot of things
But they are blue and blurred,
Un-disturbed
Like a fragile islet,
An ecosystem of minds and thoughts
What comprises an idea?
Synapses firing
In comprehensible manner
Does the coastline consider itself part of the land or part of the sea?
Sometimes I forget about the water
Though my composition of 70% tends to disagree
And I ask when I can see you again
And you don't answer
Why don't you see me?
I see a lot of things

Glancing,
The wind blows suddenly
A strawberry plant sits on the windowsill
I think of you
The voices of people on the street
Reflections in storefront glass
Window shopping on a budget
I can’t afford to look away
The lake is still and beautiful
You don’t hear me at first when I call your name
A journey of 300 miles begins with goodbye
At a booth alone in the lowlight
Missing the last train home
The wind blows suddenly

Where is the beatification?
Of a bee
Working away
Pollen, check. Petals, check. Honey, made.

a dog's life
The wind howling
Like a wolf—isn’t that silly?
Like a puppy, the tornado whirls through the room
Leaving debris and destruction in its wake
The storm moves from town to town
They can feel it
Can you feel it?
It’s clawing gnawing throwing a tempest tantrum
And grins upside down
Is it happy?
Are you happy?
Why? Did you ask me that
If you loved me you would
Be transparent
But you cannot see air
But you can feel it and breathe it
And it tears at your skin
Beating on your pores
Millions of times ...
