POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Don't take offense; take it to heart.
bzzzy as a bee
Where is the beatification?
Of a bee
Working away
Pollen, check. Petals, check. Honey, made.
Bzzzzzz
You only sting once,
YOSO
Then you die
Bzzzzz
Sweet nectar made sweeter by sweat
swat
Bzzzz
And droning on
The bee is so content
With the world
Of a bee
Working away
Pollen, check. Petals, check. Honey, made.
Bzzzzzz
You only sting once,
YOSO
Then you die
Bzzzzz
Sweet nectar made sweeter by sweat
swat
Bzzzz
And droning on
The bee is so content
With the world

a dog's life
The wind howling
Like a wolf—isn’t that silly?
Like a puppy, the tornado whirls through the room
Leaving debris and destruction in its wake
The storm moves from town to town
They can feel it
Can you feel it?
It’s clawing gnawing throwing a tempest tantrum
And grins upside down
Is it happy?
Are you happy?
Why? Did you ask me that
If you loved me you would
Be transparent
But you cannot see air
But you can feel it and breathe it
And it tears at your skin
Beating on your pores
Millions of times ...

Nature looks at herself
In the mirror
In the sky and the gloss of the lake
In the moonbeams,
In the glass of butterfly wings,
And shiny honey in hives
And the glint of silver in gull feathers
Why do we hate Narcissus?
I do not recall him ever hurting anyone
As he pored over his reflection
Does the light not look back?
Elusive, the gazelle matches our movement
Never taking her eyes off ours
What love? Could compare to the scintillation
Of spider’s gossamer
And dew in the early morning
A visual cacophony of quiet...

thread and string
Un
He wove the string into a star, and pulled. Behind the glass in a café across the street from the bench he sat in, a man and a woman lock eyes. He watches them say hi, hello, how are you. And he knows that the pair would never separate from then on. The morning sunlight is tinged with heat, not yet hot, he picks at a piece of bread and throws the crumbs to a reluctant pigeon that stares him down, but does not approach. The string is meshed in his hands, red and white and yellow. It is like a caterpillar, always spinning its cocoon, always molting. He pulls it into a vague shape of a...

It always gets so late
In the day day day
Late late late
On this unimportant date
Blink once twice and I missed it
Blinding speeding rate
Wearing down the weather-worn
Can’t find the pearly gate
Misguided indirections
An angel lost, he sings
The map says it is so:
Purgatory brings
A basket of Belial
Cornucopious,
Of sour grapes and dry mouth
Looks like the Devil went down South
I find myself in an orchard of pairs:
Of humming fruit, dopamine, and an endless set of stairs…

Drifting wood down of a duck
The river streams live on television
I wonder what one deer saw
Dust of a star quality
Boston free party
All invited to the feast day of St. Margarine
Cut corners tell no stories
5 over 1
Still makes five
Dead men, morning glories
Lime minister of LeMonaco
Looking?
Man-date of heaven (two angels)
Using a StrawBerryMan to prop up my argument (5 a day!)
Vitamints---why aren't these a thing
Drinking and rhyming
At the socialist bar (pub-lic housing)

running home
It seems that human life is a cycle of trauma of losing your mother
Each generation lashed down, down
By the thorny rose vines of degeneration
Other animals in the kingdom seem to have it figured out
Raise your youth and turn them alone to the world
To nurture briefly and teach them solitude
An animal’s life is so lonely
But it survives without falling in love or getting their hearts broken,
It’s never right for the old to bury the young
But we raise our children, watch them be born,
But it is us, the children, who watch our parents grow old...

mandate of heaven
Willing weeping willows
Through the shaken snaking woods
Moses dearie bring the flood
The devil acts a fool
Endless firebomb brigade
Entering the pearly gates
Love and light and laser sights
A thousand boiling sleepless nights
Running into the past
Trimming tripping legs so fast
I wonder if you have the time
To make sense of a killer's nursery rhyme
Through the shaken snaking woods

directionally challenged
The window darkens and lightens as
The clouds wander across the sun
I look in the mirror
And trace the green breathless veins
Across my chest, angel wings
I look to the side
See you smiling in my mind
Barely there, some things aren’t tangible
The mist clings to my clothing
You told me not to go
But I hate listening to myself
The clouds wander across the sun
I look in the mirror
And trace the green breathless veins
Across my chest, angel wings
I look to the side
See you smiling in my mind

so-bering strait
The ganache of the gnashing birthday bash(ing)
Celebrating the return of the norms
It’s sentimental orderly rentals
Of the two-timing old-rhyming form
You ring the line and the line finds fish
And the Lenten season begins
To the tune of the treason tis the reason for the sneezin’
Elaborate----in your place-----if you please
Urban issues and macroeconomics
All is well in the summertime breeze
Forgoing bellows of a flame-burned fellow
Sets my three minds at ease
A cautionary tale high risk investment
Don’t be scared to spend it...

I stood at the edge of the point between time periods
I hung in the airless air like a breath in a lung.
And looked down at nothing nothing
The light fell and sunk its teeth into the meat of the fabric
I quelled a rebellion of an intrinsic stomach
Kite flying fanatics on planet quarz
Insisting you can make something of something
Aerial alchemy, aquifers and acolytes
Kissing byte sized bites
Fickle pickled vegetarians zero calorie administration
Of prescription magnification
Eyes light up when they sty
Walk faster to try...

A tiny trickle of tricking trite
Writing a riddle of right and rite
Divining, diving, saliva for truth
Fiddling, feeding, finding, ruth
Bickering, bearing, baring, bare
Hiccupping, lingering, flickering flare
Hopping, hoping, down, the way
To light, the lime, sunk-in astray
