Flirting with Death

I can see death out of the corner of my eye
Following me down the block
Two steps behind me, heart racing faster
Excitement is entrapment
I barely make it around the corner
Just barely out of your grasp
sigh heavy but my cheeks are hot

I can feel death standing outside my window
I make sure to leave the blinds slightly open
And undress extra slow
I know that he is watching
My skin tingles with exhilaration
But I wont let him catch me tonight

One day I left the window cracked
An accidental act of fate
Death crept in so slowly, lifting up my sheets
He took his time with me
And left no stone unturned
Cold breath on my neck
And adreline in my veins
His fingers tracing my collar bone
And making their way onto my neck
I was quite ready to lay down my life for this
I had waited my whole life for
This
