The Raven and The Nightingale

Sing sweet Nightingale
Serenade outside my window
Shadow man watches my every move
Sullen,
head barely lifts off the pillow
Scythe in the corner and
Empty bottles by the bedside
He came and then he checked
But the shoe aint quite fit
Yet
Weary pleas, a symphony
Catatonic chrysalis her
Song sings on -
The raven talks to me
He whispers my name
"Cinderella, I beg of thee
Come and sit right here with me"
Thoughts tumble in my head
Considerations of a more permanent death
Who am I?
What is this?
Cool wind from a crack in the window
Sets hairs standing on edge
Lyrics from the Nightingale
Beckon to me and
Lure me to the sill
But the raven caws deep from the corner
A panicked cry to forgo the finale,
But still the melody magnetizes me
Nightingale promises are the
Sweetest kind
A temptation, an impulse - a kiss
Eyes flutter shut,
Heart beats still,
Nothingness
The raven perches on my shoulder
Asks for my hand in a walk
We chat about life,
Lack there of,
And the peace that abounds us now
I head a rustle,
And turned my head up
To see curtains blowing out of
My window
Raven begs to turn my eyes away
Lest I see the Nightingale
Picking at what was once
Me
