IN THIS SILENCE LISTENING (II) (11-11-2004, a.m., Galveston Island, Texas)
kind cool fronts
passing rains
drenched this coastal
island town
in its early crossings
passage this morning
as i now
ride my bike
out upon
all these freshly drowned
and cleansed
wet streets
along my way
to reach
todays appointments
suns out now
with cool north breezes
refreshing crisp embrace
so sweetly touching
and filling me
with each deep breath
i take
i soak it in
and drink it up
savoring this mornings
subtle joys
of changing seasons
natural flow
dancing here
everywhere
all around me
as i cross this islands streets
attentive to
this softened
rarefied peace
still lingering here
in these drowsy
neighborhoods of morning
aware that
in this passive silence
where i so quickly
lose all sense of time
that i am simply
listening for
the filtered
vital essence
of it all
to feed the wholeness
of my awakened beings
body mind heart
spirit and soul
with that which
it most lacks
and needs
here presently
so that i may continue
thriving
and flourishing
so i may simply
try my best
throughout each
new day
and night
against all obstacles
against all
odds
against all fears
and doubts
to keep on
shinning
on
