Image for the poem touch of fate

touch of fate

I capture my empty collection of thoughts
wrestle them from the stars
traipsing through the universes gazing at wandering souls
looking for a like spirit to attach myself to

with a great ache and heavy with a storm
my thoughts return to me
pregnant with impressions left by the peoples
lonely interlopers of fate
meeting me in the darkness
reflecting compassion I am touched

tender affliction is love
we meet having at best moments of it in its purest form
touching eternity in another soul

then our mortal coil tugs on us
and we return to our solitary existence
