FALLING "IN" or "UP" TO LOVE

WHY

I've often wondered,
as I'm sure some
of you have, why do
we say "I have FALLEN"
in love or "I am FALLING"
in love"?
To FALL, in my opinion,
has a negative meaning
that causes avoidance:
e.g. "I fell and broke my leg";
"The Stock Market" has fallen."
To me what I want to experience
is FALLING UP TO LOVE.
This means from a low state
of not being in love, to rising
to the blissful state of being
in love with that special person.
Just something to think about
as we meet at the KISSING PLACE
