Image for the poem linger

linger

I reach for you in my dreams
I look and don't see you,
then relieved and a little frightened I see your face,
an ache and whisper and you're gone

my soul seeks you in the twilight too
reaching for a lover known but never had
moans escape my lips
tiny cries for satisfaction

mewling in my sleep
I know you're there I feel you
but you appear different in dream time

a heavy and dark figure
taking in the beauty I am and am not
I'm terribly intelligent but lack grace to temper my type of shine
you admonish me for my temperament and barbaric bend

chaste of soul
I remain pure captivated by your truth
