Erosion of Self

These undulating waves beckon
Their billowy and unrequited love
Towards unsure cordial shores.
Crippling themselves upon
Cliffs of their own creation.

And Water promised sanctuary
Laughter and a symphony
But all she received
Were broken beaches
Of dissymmetry

As her once lovely coast erodes
Into the pink promised horizon
She finds herself wondering
What more she could give
To satiate Water’s thirst.

And the lust raged tempest
Rears this lascivious leviathan
Who craves love and desires their
Own mutual destruction in the name
Of Possession.

This poem cover's the topic of a toxic relationship between lovers. The first stanza here describes how Water continuously pressures the Island with his advances, and the Island doesn't know how to tell him no. As Water breaks down the Island's once beautiful shores, he finds that he's disappointed in what she's become, even if it's a result of how he's using her.
