Image for the poem hush

hush

silence smile at me
smoldering depth with an edge
I felt awkward in his gaze
I blush, holding my soul still so he could peer closer

I was a sunflower at dawn
open and receiving the light
sunbathing in the glory of truth

he cast a long shadow over me
I was alone with the quiet
carefully contemplating
in my reverie I was reminded of my humanness

gentle of heart
flavored with honesty
he reflected on me a moment longer

then his smile touched my soul
and I knew the beauty found there
