Image for the poem sorrow is mine

sorrow is mine

peak and then descend
sorrow is mine
in my chambers kept
lest I forget the woman I am

in the sacred arts knowledgeable
fine tuning my instrument
my soul a place of refinement
sadness flavors it so well

melancholy epiphanies write me love letters
humility teaches me wisdom
reflected in the gaze of others
my heart and morals
if I fail a soul, I keen inside until I make it right

my being heavy
I wear a crown of hurt
I let my sisters and brothers down too often
forgetting they are reflections,
of the face of my maker

Author's Note
I am not a religious person I ascribe to no organized religion I do however believe there is one who created us I hear him in my mind... sometimes I can really dislike a person or their treatment of me... he then reminds me that is one of his own children who bear the likeness of his own personality perhaps even reflecting his own feelings towards me...
