Aftermath

chop and sparkle in the wind
the storm has left now we are in
the aftermath...it is leaving,
Sun reflecting, ocean heaving

another winter storm has passed
onto the shore, it came so fast
bringing rain from low dark clouds...
short days too as darkness crowds

our minds while getting nearer
winter solstice, in which we are
full of joy with light returning
day by day as we keep yearning

for the signs of early spring
snowdrops ready to begin
crocuses and daffodils -
life returning with all its thrills

the storm has left, we're in between
blue above, below the green...
choppy waters in the ocean -
the atmosphere in constant motion
