Creeping Virus
Creeping Virus
Closer, closer now
Each day brings us closer
To those in our hearts and minds
To those in foreign lands
Our hearts and love reach out
To hold, to hug, to feel again
What we haven't done
For so long now
This bug, this virus, this black death
Keeps us apart
To tear away our hopes and our desires
Keeps families apart
Keeps loved ones from basic needs
Spreads fear and mistrust
Like wildfire in a summers heatwave
This incidious creeper
No one escapes
As it grows and multiplies
Slowly touching
Everyone we hold dear
Marking us with it's poison
Or making us it's unwanted carrier
People hide away
In their homes
In their own self made prisons
Behind their masks
Waiting patiently
For early release, for pardon
For forgiveness
For sins they have not comitted
Is there hope?
There is always hope
Never fear
Though time will be
Against so many
A hero will come, have no doubt
Batman to the rescue
A jab, a simple jab
Is all it'll take
To kill the black death
Once and for all
That is of course
For those of us with
With more than straw or sawdust between our ears
Closer, closer now
Each day brings us closer
To those in our hearts and minds
To those in foreign lands
Our hearts and love reach out
To hold, to hug, to feel again
What we haven't done
For so long now
This bug, this virus, this black death
Keeps us apart
To tear away our hopes and our desires
Keeps families apart
Keeps loved ones from basic needs
Spreads fear and mistrust
Like wildfire in a summers heatwave
This incidious creeper
