Lady Inspiration, you lead me to    
say the strangest things -        
talk of heart & soul & passion      
& dreams & love & yearning -      
words not to be broached      
in this, our "civilized" society      
       
How dare you lead me astray      
from the banal monotony        
that is my day-to-day existence!      
I cultivate apathy & self-centeredness      
with a dedication which      
you could never understand      
       
I remain steadfast & defiant    
against your seductive whispers in my ear,      
whilst the energy builds & builds & builds      
until the peaceful night explodes with a      
disgusting torrent of stanzas & lyrics      
& words & rhymes & musical suppositions      
that force me to admit that....      
       
yes, I am still a live human being,  
not so dead inside as I had long      
supposed myself to be      
       
Lady Inspiration, I reluctantly take hold      
of your gentle guiding hand      
Lead me to walk untrodden paths      
blanketed with newly fallen snow,      
illuminated by mind-bending ideas        
& crazy notions        
& shocking twists & turns        
of semantic discovery.
