Picked and Sipped

glistening skin under tropical skies.
heat in the extreme hitting the day
whispers of breeze gone from air
escaping the humidity and heat
of the mid-day sun

hands busy dancing from twigs to sprigs
harvesting little knobs of coffee fruits
fast and furious they're dumped into buckets
to be de-skinned and dried in the sun

sweaty brows and sun-kissed cheeks
weary hands and tired shoulders
she carried full buckets to the shelter
wishing she was somewhere else

sipping java
under coloured awnings
nails painted scarlet
Gucci bag and Jimmy Choo
thinking of masks and masters
of pleasure sweats under leather straps
never knowing other sweats
...origin of coffee in her cup
