Cut My Hair

I want to cut my hair,
Cut most of it off.
Then I’d feel like myself,
But my mom would scoff.

I want to cut my hair,
Look more masculine.
Then maybe I’d be able to
Function.

Because I don’t feel like a girl,
Or a boy necessarily;
Just a person, and I wish the world
Could understand that.

I wish that I could understand that.
