Red Flags
I saw the red flags.
Waving in the wind.
So inviting they looked,
As if they were waving me in.
Without caution I walked,
Awed by the way they swayed.
He held my hand,
And stole my gaze.
I watched him walk
I watched him talk
So beautiful,
So profound.
I lost myself in his eyes,
And never got back,
The pieces he shattered to the ground.
Waving in the wind.
So inviting they looked,
As if they were waving me in.
Without caution I walked,
Awed by the way they swayed.
He held my hand,
And stole my gaze.
I watched him walk
I watched him talk
So beautiful,
So profound.
I lost myself in his eyes,
And never got back,
The pieces he shattered to the ground.
