Random thoughts on a Sunday

the hymns soared to the rafters
hitting roof with it's gusto
old bats hanging upside down
o-shit moments
as they peed down their face
songs...o discordant sounds
wafted up, shocked them and left
towards destination...heaven

soft voices followed rites and liturgies
kyrie eleison
Christie eleison
O salutaris host

knees bent behind pews
grant me solace  for I seek
what can be bestowed without a price

later it rained
and I walked home.
on pavement
ankle deep in water

a couple of wriggling fish
crossed my path ...
from drain to drain
what green pastures
are you seeking, fish

random thoughts about Sundays, prayers and hopes crossed my mind
today
