Heart Don’t Cry

many Souls have left me in life
some not by death  
they’ve made a choice  
I reckon for reasons unknown
yet this heart don’t cry
 
can feel their spirits within  
they soften every step taken
upon fallen velvet petals
leading to a doomed path of thorns  
yet this heart don’t cry
 
cursed lips forever silenced
from whispering expressions
of undying luv or pain
that’s very much alive within
yet this heart don’t cry
 
it needs too let go but it won’t  
this soul promised you not to
time will now pass relentlessly
until church bells ring it’s death
in the Holy Father’s arms it will cry
 
so will yours when I’m eternally gone
