hot burning feet
sweat and sticky sand
god how I miss the beach
the crowds and waves
and summer heat
I'm dreaming
of washing sand from my bikini
getting hit by errant frisbees
gooping gooey sunscreen
and frying in the sun
listening to the Beach Boys
a deep dark secret
I've really got it bad
winter's not even begun
I'm California dreaming
of endless sandy beaches
riptides and sea shells
and oh so cute lifeguards
posing when I walk by
you can't help wiggling your bum
walking in the sand
but maybe a little extra
just for fun

I love the immersive imagery and good vibes throughout your poem. I felt my toes in the beautiful golden sands for a moment with the cool waves caressing them and then receding again while of course wiggling the bum. lol Sweaty bodies and the smell of coconut sun tan lotion. So many lovely thoughts. You take me places and I love that. ;)

The feeling of being drenched in the sun. The salt water burning my little knee nicks from shaving.
I was totally there for a minute. Kristina is right. I can also smell the coconut oil:)

yes the beachs along the coast like maluba, the black beach, sunset beach, new port, hungation, seal beach,Santa Monica, and so on

Did you grow up surfing and listening to Dick Dale? It just seems like an amazing time to be alive, every thing was new and creative. Endless Summer is maybe my favorite movie of all time and I can't get anyone to watch it with me. Oh well, I'm just dreaming.

never surfed did know the drummer of dick dale listen to the beach boys as my self not seen it never give up your dreams. that was many years ago
