fires lit

it was cold and she invited me in
I said one, she insisted on two
we know the rules
said the one that was cool

a few led to more
curbed to the floor
gazing at skies
thru soft satin eyes

the moon held us up
leading lost souls astray

fires, soon lit
where kisses had set
roaming the ruins

underneath unnamed statues
arts of destruction
captured within time
within moments
fleeting faster than the night

nestled into the warmth
steadfast, unwavering
enthralling the elixer of her thrill

awoken by the seagulls
warning us
it's soon about to rain
