I agree.  
My son suffers from it as well. He picked up a guitar and it helped. He is amazing.  He found an outlet for his anxiety. The spirit finds a way if you but try and look. Don't know where he'd be if he didn't pick up that guitar. Very scary time in our family.  
Looks like poetry found you or you found it. This write is strong.
You put the mantra of "I got me" in your own sense of style with this poem.

Because when you have no one.
When you are angry with God.
When you feel God is angry with you.
You always have you.  
You have your own back.
Nothing more powerful than that.

Yes...  Sometimes I am hit hard by a nameless dread,
or like really profound sense of despair or sorrow.

I genuinely believe these are natural responses
to the nature of the world.

but that being said...

We want self control and self mastery.

I never curse God or fate or that sort of thing...

I have always sought to have an incinerating soul,
that all things and makes from them...  Beauty.

I think these things maybe have only come upon
me periodically...  (less and less as time has passed)

My desire is to perhaps others,
in the empowerment of myself.

I can’t imagine that anyone who reads this wouldn’t be able to relate in some way or another. Writing is the thing that has always kept me from going over the edge.
