I'm intrigued by your dilemma with regards to  the issue of purity and so forgive my conceit if I attempt to shed some light on the subject of which I feel myself familiar. There are 2 parts to us, at least for the sake of this conversation. What we are, and who we are. What we are is always pure or what we may call transcendental. Who we are is the appearance we must take on to navigate the fractured 3 d world we have to work through, survive in, and continually mediate. In short what we must acquire to survive in a dangerous world. Descending energy is corrupted by the demands of the journey. The part of us that is pure is completely beyond human thought

your body alone is the temple
and only the offering of every breath
remains the alter of life's radiant immensity
