Thick Girls
My mama always told me
that big was never beautiful,
but now, I see
what was never taught to me.
There's a girl in this world
who I consider to be the most beautiful,
and she's no size 8.
She's one of the thick girls.
Never even knew what a thick girl was
until I started obsessing.
Until I fell in love hard,
never knew looks could be so damn important!
Thick girls were the hype I was hearin' about.
Luscious curves, soft bodies, thick thighs
It all made sense.
I hope one day,
all girls meant for thickness
know that they're beyond beautiful.
It ain't just thin meant for beauty;
thick is too.
Thick girls, not the ones you always hear in magazines or tv,
still have what it takes
to show the world
that beauty comes in more shapes and sizes than one.
That you can have a tummy
and still be yummy.
That's what that girl taught me,
the one I find most beautiful.
Confident in her skin,
no need for her to be thin.
Cute as can be,
something anyone could have seen.
She taught me you can be confident
at any size.
Doesn't matter if you think you're imperfect
because imperfections make us perfect.
She was one of the thick girls,
I thin,
but in the end,
it didn't matter.
'Cause we're both beautiful.
If you're thick,
embrace those curves!
Show people what you're worth!
From a girl meant to be thin,
you're also meant to win.
