Bird of my albino soul
I thought you black against the sun
lost between the clouds
and darkness, in outline had succumbed
the perch on which I stood
The negative was soon reversed
that circled overhead
the one, new filled with self belief
to match white wings that spread
To glide and soar and upwards lift
upon the thermals drift
from hence, was my own entity,
to earth a chained conscript
Visited, as claw marks in the snow
the phantoms,
seen and disappeared,
within the cage they sang
Not the song of natures hymn
the bird of my albino soul
soon fates would spring the door
and freedom come from deep within
Be cleaned by the baptismal rain
withstand the hurricane
glowing with angelic light
backlight with dark moonbeams
lost between the clouds
and darkness, in outline had succumbed
the perch on which I stood
The negative was soon reversed
that circled overhead
the one, new filled with self belief
to match white wings that spread
To glide and soar and upwards lift
upon the thermals drift
from hence, was my own entity,
to earth a chained conscript
Visited, as claw marks in the snow
the phantoms,
seen and disappeared,
within the cage they sang
Not the song of natures hymn
the bird of my albino soul
soon fates would spring the door
and freedom come from deep within
Be cleaned by the baptismal rain
withstand the hurricane
glowing with angelic light
backlight with dark moonbeams
