Giving up

We are giving up
on You my God
Your promises are not for all of us
We may be alive,
but our sin has smothered Your grace
It has hardened our thoughts
and now we are blaming You...

We're blaming You for ignoring us,
while we deal with this world's absurdity
We're blaming You for leaving us
to drown in our own adversity
What's going to happen to us
when faith cracks up inside?
It's supposed to be the sinner's Cross
that'll lift the vail of Your bride!

We're giving up
on You my God
It seems Your Word has been lost,
spoken only to the deaf
You knew our path would be unlit,
we were helpless before we realised it
and now we are blaming You...

We're blaming You for killing us
with the deeds of the immoral
We're blaming You for not healing us
and now we're living the new normal
What will happen to us
when we stay in this damnation?
If we turn our faces to You,
do You promise to be our salvation?

So yes we're giving up,
we're giving up on You my God
You have pearced us with Your judgement,
now the world is crumbling at Your feet
You knew our path would be destructive
long before we walked it in shame

...and now we are blaming You
