I figure they're having trouble working out trade deals with other countries. Why that would be--I mean, we all want our brothers & sisters to have enough to eat, yes? The Japanese subsidize domestic agriculture. They believe it prevents them from becoming too dependent on other countries. After all, those countries might not have Japan's--or in this case--Britons' best interests at heart.
