The crisp, cool night
looms large,
in
solitary solidarity.
Crackling wisp
&
crickets…
Possum across fence
lingers,
casts a glance
askance.
Shadow in shape
of
human
or
numen.
Bat wings break
the
shapelessness
of
air.
This
is
the
vigil
of the
solitary
individual.
