Beards & Breakdowns

It always starts with a beard -
The breakdown.
After days bleed into weird -
The falling frown.

Realization behind silver
Filaments, crawling
Under the surface layer
Of the lit up mirror.

Precision of vision bright -
Madness is quite
The sight
Tonight.

Gnarly follicles screaming.
Wild hair dreaming.
All seeming -
Freeing.

Like

Detachment adjacent
to
Detachment

Unhinged

Lunatic fringe...

Madness begins -
like death resumes,
In the tombs,
With a beard

That grows.

Author's Note
I looked in the mirror, for the first time in some time, and noticed that I am growing a beard. (not to crucial of a beard, maybe a 6 week beard?  I cannot find the trimmers, although I only recently started to look for them.) but it made me think of when I actually had like a full on Rasputin beard.  Like,  I went for over a year without looking in the mirror or trimming my beard.  I kind of liked it, actually; I have a cool looking beard.

Well...  Something happened that required a sacrifice, so I cut off my beloved beard and never grew it back.

But yes...  I was thinking about how the beard is often associated with the madman,  and how, the beard keeps growing, even after you die...  That takes me places...  hmm...
