solemn song of the soul within
it keens to be heard above the day's din
lilting higher until I hear it
my inner voice so gentle of being
quietly singing a melancholy melody

my heart listens giving my voice credence
child of faith climbing notes into the eternal sacred vow
where i find myself in His presence

sweet Adonai our maker
tenderly he loves my being
lifts me up and rejoices over me
in his company I'm renewed

I rise to greet him early in the day
I seek to be a woman of grace
a beautiful flower in his eternal garden dream

his artistry made me unique
his fingerprints on my soul
that's why I sing his praise
