Lines Around Her Eyes
The young are smooth and beautiful.
Their silky skin is fine.
But when it comes to deeper love,
give me eyes with lines.
The creases say she’s lived a life
filled with gain and loss.
Lines that say she’s loved before,
and understands the cost.
