Mostly to get themselves laid

And there’s all this hate in the world
And love is supposed to conquer hate
But some people so love to hate
Worse than any global pandemic

And girls wish they were boys
And boys wish they were girls
And some way too smart hedge their bets
Find good psych’s with parents’ health insurance

And get bits added and subtracted
Scalpels like modern day needles
And most of the treatments are reversible
And the anti-depressants get stronger

And suicide is trending up
And it’s always an easy option
With life so meaningless & cheap
And with nothing to pray for

With every desire at our fingertips
Credit card approvals pending
Old-fashioned romance so yesterday
And with so many apps to replace it
