The Shape
When you look at me
What do you see?
Nothing but a brown-eyed boy
Caught in an aging body
Scared of change
Because now is too good
Hopelessly trying to figure things out
Having words, but no answers
Barely able to see over the counter
To order a pack of cigarettes
Leering at the beautiful women
Who are about as young as my heart
In the company of my friendly thoughts
What do you see?
Nothing but a brown-eyed boy
Caught in an aging body
Scared of change
Because now is too good
Hopelessly trying to figure things out
Having words, but no answers
Barely able to see over the counter
To order a pack of cigarettes
Leering at the beautiful women
Who are about as young as my heart
In the company of my friendly thoughts
