Instant poetry

I gotta tell you
this writing poetry is hard
there's fleas and poop everywhere
and my banana bill is through the roof
cooking and cleaning are driving me mad
not to mention the changing of diapers
all for the Goddess Calliope
I've given up my dream of writing
another War and Peace
or even Jonathon Livingston Seagull
I would have settled for a limerick or two
that weren't about bananas
that's it I'm getting out
for sale 100 monkeys
they know the alphabet
or and least their BANAs with refrain
but I give you fair warning
100 monkeys on 100 typewriters
will not make you William Shakespeare
