Image for the poem One day as you read this don

One day as you read this don't let it destroy you

One day as you read this don't let it destroy you
Tears are there to restore you
Never hold them in
Never lock them in
Let them flow
Let them caress  your cheeks
Wash you anew and set you free

One day as you read this don't let it destroy you
Never be afraid to cry
Holding tears back will tear you up inside
Take this little trick,
Cry in the rain so no one see you cry
Cry while you pretend to smile

It's unfortunately inevitable
It's part of this life
But never let pain steal your shine

God never left us stranded without a way to heal what hurts inside.
Friends will come and go
People you love will disappoint you
Those you care for will hurt you
Failure and hardship are inevitable
But tears are there to anoint you

Never hold them in
For one day the heaviest burden to bare will be in your chest
As you realise how much life you didn't live because of the pain you failed to let
So never lock them in
Let them set you free
Never make the mistake that I did

One day as you read this don't let it destroy you
