FACE OF MOTHER EARTH
She wears a crown
Of magic on her head
No really- I know
What I just said
But if you were to put
Me in her stead
In truth I’d be filled
Utterly with dread
She eats poison
For flavor
It’s tempting
To want to save her
Buts she asks
You just one favor:
This connection
Let her savor
This is
Human ingenuity
Unwrapped
No ambiguity
Tattooed in flesh
Such dignity
Sit back, thankful
That you can see
A goddess
In her time and place
A tender of
The fields with grace
Mother Earth
Has shown her face
Stopping all of
Time and space
Thank you for hearing
What I’ve seen
And understanding
What I mean
Impossible
Yet so serene
