Another tour de force ... first stanza hooked ... after the title teased ... "tortured quietude" ... gold nugget ... "truths/turned to fools gold" ... "leaving a hear/in embers, ashy" ... great imagery ... "soot" to continue the metaphor ... then the last two lines ... bring the poem home ... this one resonated so deep with me ... love everything about it ...

Dear BV,

This piece reminds me when I’m feeling particularly unhappy or unsettled. I wish myself into a cloud so I can fly away from all the junk I don’t want to hear, see or live with any more. And while I will own whatever part I’ve played in my upheaval sometimes picking up sticks and making a break for it works best for a bit.
“ Leaving a heart
in embers, ashy
unrecognizably singed
lungs struggling
of forgotten soot

choking on more than
forsaken fire” I think these stanzas are exceptionally poignant every time I hear again a broken promise I know to be lip service. Really amazing poem. H🌷

I think you and I have tapped into and pull from the same wavelength of emotional responses, somewhere along our life travels.. You always seem to deeply appreciate and just get it. There really aren't many out there who can identify with an innate sense of someone, just by reading their poems. You're a little bit mystical with that 'Honoria intuitiveness' .... I adore it and I'm so grateful for it's pointed direction my way.

Deeply wrought with perditions flames and the existential ash choked in nihilistic incense. You really went all out here and made something to be proud of. I've noticed that your pieces have both a classic and contemporary sound and feel to them. It makes me feel almost like deja vu, reading the words and remembering something from the past. It's pretty unique and skilled.
