First-Born Grandchild Dedication
My Poem
dedicated
my first-born
grandchild
Joshua I Garcia
I wish I may
I wish I might
Wave my magic wand
Make you alright.
I love you
My heart, my soul
Bleeds for you
And your plight.
Thought processes
Short circuit editor
Hard at work
Crossing lines.
I do not think
Is best way
For you to go
And, you know too.
Please don't wait
Til too late
You do deserve
Better you know.
Walking in light
Is an easier softer way
Rather than haphazardly
Stumbling in darkness.
I cry for you
I hurt for you.
You cry for you
You hurt for you.
Even nowhere people
Know where they are
You are no exception
Can't fool the bullshitter.
Just in case you don't
Know who that is
It's the you of you
Kept locked away.
Come out and play
Be fair to you
Honor thyself
Honor thy children.
Please think hard
Of turning life around
Become a productive citizen
Of society.
There's one more you
Cannot bullshit either
That is me
Your maternal grandmother.
Time is of essence
Not always on one's side
Time flees quietly by
And now here we are.
Before I finished
This poem dedicated
To you, my grandson
You fight for life.
Death sentence
Passed to you.
May never come home
Ain't no goddamned joke.
You are lost
You can be found
It must be you
Who hunts and finds.
Not a one can
Do it for you
You are the only one
Wake up, come home.
