Music Passion Eight
Disco Ball One
When in grammar school
to hate Disco was cool
what was so great
about three brothers,
fully grown men,
who could sing higher notes
than I could at age ten?
the first line of “Staying Alive”
I thought quite ironic
sung in falsetto harmonic
And yet it was
“Night’s on Broadway” I chose
my inept dancing to expose
when in 6th grade
assigned a popular song
to choreograph
In front of class
our performance began
In line Temptation’s style
I heard some kids laugh
embarrassed I ran
away from my group
to my desk down the aisle
